Access and Roles
Understand organization roles, server grants, and which pages are owner or admin only.
Organization roles
EnderDash organizations currently use three role levels:
| Role | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full organization control |
| Admin | Full day-to-day operational control |
| Member | Access only to what has been granted |
Owners and admins are the elevated roles in the product.
Organization access is not the same as server access
Being in an organization does not automatically mean you can use every server inside it.
- Owners and admins can work across the organization.
- Members usually need explicit server access before server pages, live data, or scoped tools become useful.
- Some server actions can be narrower than full server control, depending on how access was granted.
If a teammate says "I can see the org, but not the server I need," this is usually a grant issue.
Admin-only pages and actions
The following areas are owner or admin only:
- Downloads
- API key regeneration
- creating or deleting server records
- Billing
- Activity
- organization-wide member and grant management
Regular members can still use the servers they were granted, but they should not expect setup, billing, or audit pages to appear.
If a page or panel is missing
Check these in order:
- organization role
- server grant
- plan or subscription limits
- target capabilities
For example, a panel might be hidden because:
- the user does not have access
- the organization plan does not include the feature
- the connected target does not expose that capability at all
Good defaults for teams
- Keep owners and admins limited to the people who actually handle setup, billing, and incident response.
- Grant members access to the servers they work on instead of treating the whole organization as all-or-nothing.
- Use Activity when you need to review what changed and who changed it.
